About

Be sure you use the right size tool for the job

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.”

Anna Quindlen quotes (American bestselling Author and Journalist, b.1953)

Well look at me I am blogging! My middle    daughter would call me names right about now  but I don’t care. New to the blogging world hope that you will be patient with me as you were once a newbie too.

So I guess I am supposed to give you little clues about who I am and what I may write about. Well plan to pour out thoughts from my authentic self, a woman I have been excavating over the past year or more. We all have one, an authentic self I mean; we have just buried her or him under piles of debris. You know the kinds of debris I am talking about, other people’s ideas of who we should be and what we should like, how we should behave and what we should believe in. We owe it to ourselves to dig her out and allow her the freedom to explore what it is that truly brings us joy.

As I have taken the shovel and begun my personal dig I have discovered many things along the way. My most recent discovery is that I want to write. Not novels or non-fiction although there may be a time for that, but short stories, essays, blogs. I do not necessarily have a plan for this blog or a theme although these may emerge from time to time. I really just want to share with the blogging community some of the joys I have found along my journey.

It is never too late to become the person you could have been. ~George Eliot

Hoorah! I am blogging.

Taking a ride

  1. Yippee, yahoo, good for you!!! It’s never too late to find that part of you that has been hiding. No better place to spread your wings than on a blog. Be careful, it’s addicting!!! Thank you so much for visiting my blog, leaving a lovely comment AND subscribing! I look forward to getting to know you. Margie

  3. Dear Paige I just want to apologise for my failure to guest blog for you 😦 I have had a month where I have had some difficult decisions to make and hence I have not managed to write anything worth while or with any depth. It was such an honour to be asked and I feel bad about not making it. Maybe sometime when I have something useful to offer I will see if you would like it?

    • I would like that very much. I am hoping to develop “themes” to feature guest bloggers on a regular basis as I have found it to be great way to introduce different view points.

  4. Hi Paige. I like your blog, and I appreciate your following mine, especially as it is so new and I’m still working out the kinks. I’d appreciate any comments you might have on format, content, etc., as I’m very much a learner and looking to others’ feedback and examples to help my work improve. What do you like, what not so much: I’ve been trying lots of different angles, still figuring out what to keep & want to dump.

    • Hi Greg,

Thanks for the comment and solicitation of advice…always an honor. The Authentic Me would tell you to do what feels right for you. That is what blogging is all about…expressing yourself to the world. You format is clean and readable, the blog easily navigated. Reading and commenting on other blogs will both increase your readership and give you great ideas. Best of blogging luck to you.

  5. Hi Paige,
Just discovered your About page…love how you express yourself. 🙂
I’ll be following your posts…the only problem about blogging is that we connect with so many amazing people and want to read (and comment on) what they write…then we don’t have time to write our own. 🙂 If you figure out how to solve that, please let me know!

    • Thank you for the kind comment. Here is my secret…I read and comment on blogs during my commute as I ride the Easy Street van giving me 2 extra hours a day. As of late however the app on my iPhone isn’t working as it should and its making me mad. Anyway if I read and comment from home I try to put limits on my time if I plan to create a post so that I don’t get too carried away. It can be a tough balance though. Let me know how it works out for you. ~Paige

  6. Hi, there, fellow “newbie”! I’ve been blogging since July 2011 and had no clue as to what a blog even was – still learning! 🙂 You’re a very open and honest writer, with a silly side – the way you mentioned your daughter at the beginning made me laugh. Thank you for the follow. I look forward to reading more of what has and will come from you.

    Blessings,
